An old carpenter was about to retire; he told his boss that he wanted to leave the construction industry and go home to spend time with his wife and children. 　　The boss didn’t want to lose him and asked if he could help build another house, to which the old carpenter said yes. 　　The old carpenter thought about retiring earlier every day, so he didn’t use the best materials nor his finest skills. 　　When the house was built, the boss handed him the keys to the front door and said, “This is your house; it’s a gift from me to you.” ” The old carpenter was stunned after hearing this. 　　Lesson 1: Quality is life. One should always strive for quality and excellence; this is an outstanding quality that is essential for both a company and an individual. 　　Lesson two: Responsibility is weightier than Mount Tai. Every small task at work, every little detail in life, deserves our full commitment. Take responsibility bravely; whatever needs to be done must be done well, even on the final shift. 　　Insight 3: Cultivate a sense of ownership. Doing our job well is not only for the company, but also for ourselves. Your attitude at work today will determine the quality of the “home” you will have tomorrow; only by adopting an owner’s mindset can you become a competent employee.
