On May 7, the piling work using the T-14 pile driver for Tank Group 4 in the expansion and renovation project of the Tianjin Shihua crude oil storage facility, undertaken by Sinopec Fourth Construction Company, was successfully completed. The achievement of this key milestone represents a solid step forward for the project toward its intended goals, laying a firm foundation for the subsequent civil engineering works. It is reported that Tank No. 4T-14 of this project involves over 1,100 piles, each with a length of more than 20 meters. The construction was carried out using the pre-stressed concrete hollow square pile technique with elastic clamping. Despite challenges such as a shortage of pile materials in the early stages and adverse weather conditions, the project was completed successfully within the original schedule. During the preliminary preparation phase of the engineering project, and in light of the actual conditions of the project as well as the complex geological conditions, the project team coordinated in advance with the design team to optimize the pile length and connection methods. To address the challenges posed by limited space in terms of material storage and the parking of construction machinery, the project team carefully planned the layout of the site and organized the construction process in a logical manner. By carrying out work in separate areas and stages, they ensured that construction proceeded in an orderly fashion. Adhering to the principles of \"clear regions, defined tasks, and assigned responsibilities,\" the project divides the construction area into five sections. Members of the leadership team stay at the construction site on a daily basis to address any issues that arise promptly. By having responsible party members take the lead in ensuring the achievement of goals related to progress, safety, and quality within their respective areas, a collaborative mechanism is established that features overall coordination by the party branch, leadership by party members, and participation by employees, thereby fully leveraging the exemplary role of party members. During the construction process, project managers strictly oversee each step of the work, carrying out real-time monitoring of key procedures such as material inspection upon arrival, pile positioning, the verticality of the piles, and pile connection, to ensure that the quality of the construction meets the requirements of the design specifications. The project management department stated that it will focus on completing the pile foundation construction, and while ensuring safety and quality in the work, it will accelerate the construction pace to achieve the early completion and delivery of the project.
