How to determine whether a pressure transmitter in operation is functioning properly?
Generally, pressure gauges are installed on the pipes; by comparing the two gauges, one can know the value. Also, by looking at the pump and the load downstream, it’s possible to estimate the pressure level
From a technical perspective, it can be determined through other relevant parameters....
Is your pressure transmitter smart? As long as it matches the pressure of the process pipeline, it can be determined that the operation is normal. If that doesn’t work, look at the historical trend of the higher levels; there should be no problem if there are no jumps. Smart transmitters generally support digital protocols such as HART and Brown, and can be connected to a handheld device for diagnosis.
Compare with other related pressure gauges~~ Drain and zero-check
1. On-site comparison of instruments. 2. Disengage the interlock control and perform a zero-setting check. 3. On the basis of step 2, close the pressure lead-in valve, remove it, and use a high-precision gauge for calibration; a calibration report shall be issued, and a judgment shall be made based on the obtained values.
Generally, pressure gauges for local display are provided alongside pressure transmitters, and these transmitters need to be calibrated at regular intervals. Process and operation personnel usually keep track of the parameters of both the local pressure gauges and the pressure transmitters from time to time and compare them.
