In steel structures, when welding and joining steel beams, what is the difference between single-sided cladding structures and double-sided cladding structures, and how do their strengths differ? ? The image below shows welding after applying a unilateral splint; I would appreciate it if an expert could provide some insights
Generally, a single-sided panel is used when the stress is not high; when a single-sided panel does not meet the regulatory requirements, a double-sided panel is used. It’s mainly shear force. The weld length of the single-sided plate is small, while that of the double-sided plate is large, hence it has higher load-bearing capacity.
