Are the rectified AC supplies from different sections combined together for ring closure?

Both high-voltage sections I and II have DC panels, with a DC interconnection switch in between. If the interconnection switch is closed, does that constitute a loop formation? And how does the circulating current flow?
It is not considered a closed loop, as there is no common busbar between the two DC circuits; it is treated as two separate power supply lines. Unbalanced currents flow between the busbars, and such unbalanced currents cannot flow back in the direction of the DC circuits
