Do all chemical companies have utility workshops? Almost all chemical companies have utility systems, but there is likely a significant difference in terms of management. I wonder how your company manages these systems? Should a utilities workshop be established? What does this workshop handle? Is it still only the water supply workshop, with the rest allocated to management in various areas? Feel free to share your experiences so that we can all learn from each other.
There are usually, right, utility services. It’s not that inconvenient after all, since various devices require different types of fluids – circulating water, deoxygenated water, demineralized water/fresh water, low-temperature water, chilled water, nitrogen, compressed air, purified air…… There are actually quite a lot of aspects to manage in terms of utility systems

Our factory provides steam (to be precise, it is responsible for the balanced management of steam), instrument air, process air, nitrogen, deionized water, deoxygenated water, as well as heat transfer water (under management) and heating water (under management). There is a separate unit responsible for collecting steam condensate; this unit also generates electricity and is called the Power Workshop. I think this workshop in our factory does an excellent job, with a strong ability to handle emergencies. They take proactive measures to ensure everything runs smoothly, which is very reassuring. I am very grateful for their efforts in ensuring the safe operation of the facilities! We provide fresh water, circulating water, and fire-fighting water. We are a workshop responsible for wastewater treatment; it’s a decent job, but it’s relatively passive. Buried pipelines are indeed difficult to manage, and their opinions on the water coming from upstream aren’t decisive (this depends on the factory’s management). In our storage and transportation workshop, where we handle fuel gas (management), low-pressure gas recovery, as well as the supply of alkalis and ammonia water, our main tasks involve the management of various oil storage tanks and the handling of oil deliveries and receipts. The work is demanding and requires a lot of effort, especially from the management staff. A good workshop leader is very important.
