If an activated carbon filter is already in use, replace it with activated carbon of higher quality (as a minimum, activated carbon made from fruit shells can be used) ; Another method is to disinfect the raw water, such as by adding sodium hypochlorite (it is important to protect the reverse osmosis membrane; if there is no activated carbon filter, a reducing agent needs to be added). 2. Caused by contamination of the pretreatment equipment. When the raw water contains a high amount of sediment, if backwashing is not thorough, sediment will accumulate in the system, and over time an unpleasant odor will develop. It is recommended to replace the filter media, clean the filter, and flush the pipes at this time. 3. Caused by contamination in the ultra-pure water equipment for integrated circuits. When reverse osmosis membrane elements have been in use for a long time, an earthy odor may occur; in such cases, enhance the alkaline cleaning process (it is advisable to raise the temperature to around 20 degrees), and use disinfectants to eliminate bacteria. In particularly severe cases, replace the membrane elements and thoroughly clean and rinse the pressure vessel.
