Residential buildings are classified by number of floors: buildings with 1–3 floors are considered low-rise residences, those with 4–6 floors are multi-story residences, those with 7–9 floors (with a height not exceeding 27 meters) are mid-to-high-rise residences, while buildings with 10 floors or more, or those with a height greater than 27 meters, are considered high-rise residences. 2. The minimum clear height in areas such as basements, partial mezzanines, and corridors where people are regularly active should not be less than 2 m. It is strictly prohibited to locate living spaces for children and the elderly in basements or semi-basements ； Places for singing, dancing, entertainment, screening, and games within buildings should not be located on the second basement floor or below ； When located on the first basement floor, the height difference between the floor of the first basement floor and the ground level of the outdoor entrance should not exceed 10 m. 3. The width of the steps in indoor and outdoor areas of public buildings should not be less than 0.30 m; the height of each step should not exceed 0.15 m, nor should it be less than 0.10 m. There should be no fewer than 2 steps in indoor areas ； When the height above the ground is 24 m or less, the height of the railing should not be less than 1.05 m; when the height above the ground is 24 m or more (including mid-to-high rise residential buildings), the height of the railing should not be less than 1.10 m ； When vertical members are used as handrails, the clear distance between these members should not exceed 0.11 m. Technical requirements for the building’s physical environment: 1. Allowable indoor noise level: It should not exceed 45 dB in residential areas, and 37 dB in bedrooms at night. 2. The area of the natural ventilation openings in each residential unit should not be less than 5% of the floor area. The openable area of the exterior windows in public buildings shall be no less than 30% of the total external area required ； Transparent curtain walls should have openable sections or be equipped with ventilation systems ； The area of the transparent part at the top of the star shall not exceed 20% of the total roof area.
