Recently. The dry quenching project at Xilaifeng in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, has reached several key milestones; various installation tasks, including those related to the project’s elevators and track frame beams, have been completed successfully. New progress has been made in the construction of this project, providing a solid foundation for the subsequent operation of the equipment.
The Xilaifeng dry quenching project in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, primarily involves coking enterprises using dry quenching technology to transform their traditional processes, along with the construction of waste heat power generation facilities, in order to achieve energy conservation, emission reduction, and resource recycling. The following are the key project details: The Hongyang Coking Project is located in the Xilai Feng Industrial Park in Hainan District, with a total investment of 175 million yuan, of which 79.9378 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures (accounting for 46% of the total investment). The project includes the construction of a 140t/h dry quenching unit, along with a 67t/h waste heat boiler and a 15MW steam turbine generator set. It will enable the annual recovery of 50,712 tons of standard coal and generate 102 million kWh of electricity. Commissioning is expected in September 2025
On August 30, 2025, at the construction site of the dry quenching furnace at the Xilaifeng Coking Plant in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, which was undertaken by the Northwest Branch of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation No. 11 (referred to as “CNCEC No. 11”), a clear whistle from the on-site supervisor signaled the start of the operation. Under the precise control of lifting equipment, the 567th section of the cylinder for Dry Quenching Furnace No. 1 was lifted smoothly and then lowered accurately, marking the successful completion of the installation of the main structure of this dry quenching furnace. The achievement of this important milestone has created highly favorable conditions for the subsequent core pouring construction. The 567 sections of cylinder shell lifted this time are key components of Dry Quenching Furnace No. 1. The total weight of these cylinder shells is approximately 15 tons, the diameter of their base is 9.07 meters, and the diameter of their upper end is 3.75 meters. The cylinder has a complex structure and high requirements for installation precision; its successful lifting not only demonstrates the construction company’s excellent technical skills and extensive construction experience, but also reflects the project team’s approach to scientific organization and meticulous management.
