For the fixed steel straight ladders on the equipment and frames, the design specifications require plug welding of the rungs, as shown in the following figure. At the construction site, no drilling was done; instead, the rungs were welded directly to the ladder beams, as shown in the following figure. Given the large quantity involved, I would like to ask if anyone has any solutions?

All the ladders in the on-site ductwork and frames have been installed; removing them all and then re-drilling holes for welding would involve a huge amount of work. Can it be determined through pull force testing? If the value is sufficient, is welding in this way acceptable? Testing is not realistic; no one does it that way. If the underlying risks are not thoroughly addressed, they remain. But it’s possible that it will be used very little; maybe things will go well by chance, and nothing bad will happen. If third-party inspection is a barrier, communicate more.
The ladder in the design institute is presumed to follow the minimum dimensions specified in national standards. Theoretical spacing between the railing posts is 1 meter, and people can stand under the φ16 crossbars; it’s not a strength issue at all, but rather a welding quality problem. Ladder rung diameter ≮ φ20. It is designed to be easy to grip with a diameter of φ25-35mm; in many places, a diameter of 20mm is used, and even climbing once is a concern.
