At 9:58 on September 26, the 200,000-ton/year EVA production facility of Shandong Lianhong Gerun was handed over to operation with high standards and high quality, thus successfully reaching this key milestone in the project’s development. This achievement marks the official transition of this facility from the project construction phase to the stage of joint commissioning and trial production. Wang Xiaofeng, the company’s executive director and party secretary, Zhai Jun, deputy secretary of the Zaozhuang Municipal Party Committee and mayor, Wang Guangbu, member of the Zaozhuang Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Tengzhou Municipal Party Committee, Zheng Yueming, chairman of Lianhong Group and Lianhong Xinkē, and Xie Yaping, executive president of Lianhong Xinkē and chief commander for the construction of the Lianhong Gerun integrated project, were all present to witness this milestone moment. As a major project under implementation in Shandong Province, the Lianhong Gerun integrated project has a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan and covers an area of over 1,600 mu. It includes facilities such as an EVA plant with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons, a propylene oxide PO plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, a PPC biodegradable materials plant with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, an MTO plant for producing olefins from methanol with an annual capacity of 1.3 million tons, a PPG plant with an annual capacity of 240,000 tons, as well as various supporting utility systems. Among them, the 200,000 tons per year EVA production facility built by the company serves as the \"core engine\" of this integrated project; it represents yet another technological breakthrough for Lianhong in the high-pressure sector. Following the use of autoclave-based methods and tubular tail-expansion technologies, this facility utilizes Basell’s patented tubular reaction technology to produce EVA resin particles. It features a high proportion of imported equipment, a complex production process, and a high level of automation. Once the project is put into operation, it will complete Lianhong Company’s range of high-pressure EVA products, holding significant strategic value for enhancing the autonomy and control over related industrial chains in China. Within 19 months, the project team completed the design, procurement, and construction of 18 work sections, 34 unit installations, as well as the rack storage facilities and packaging plants. This significantly shortened the timeline from the start of civil works to completion compared to similar installations, setting a new record for the construction speed of such high-pressure polyolefin projects in China. At the level of technical challenges, the team made a series of breakthroughs by focusing on key difficulties: the ultra-high pressure compressor was installed in its entirety without the need to enlarge the base ducts, and precise control was achieved over the welding accuracy of the high-pressure pipelines. The lifting precision of the crankcase of the core equipment’s booster/primary compressor reaches the millimeter level ; The 29.45-ton equipment was precisely placed using an 800-ton crawler crane, enabling the successful initiation of the high-pressure system installation ; The 35 kV substation has successfully received power, providing the essential energy foundation for the coordinated testing of the entire system.
