The curing of concrete is mainly divided into natural curing and steam curing: For C5 grade – natural curing: During the period when the concrete is under formwork, measures such as covering it with formwork, watering, and spraying water should be taken to maintain humidity and ensure that the joints between the formworks do not lose moisture and dry out. To ensure smooth form removal, the formwork can be slightly loosened 24–48 hours after concrete pouring, and watering for curing should continue until form removal, after which moisture retention should be continued until the specified age is reached. Natural curing is greatly affected by weather conditions and requires a long time, which hinders the timely completion of projects; therefore, steam curing using steam generators is now commonly employed. After concrete is poured, it can gradually set and harden mainly as a result of cement hydration. Hydration, in turn, requires appropriate temperature and humidity conditions. Therefore, in order to ensure that the concrete has suitable conditions for hardening and its strength can continue to increase, steam curing of the concrete is necessary.
