Commissioning of Unit 2, the 1.2 million tons/year ABS plant for Zhejiang Petrochemical’s high-performance resin project

On July 1, the primary frameworks of Unit 1 of the 1.2 million tons per year ABS production facility in Zhejiang Petrochemical’s high-performance resin project, as well as the primary frameworks of Units 1 and 2 of the PBL unit, the alkali washing area for PBL, the ammonia cooling station for PBL, the SAN intermediate tank area, and the system utility tunnels, were successfully put into operation for the first time. This marks the full entry of this project into its operational phase. Since the start of construction on the ABS high-performance resin project on May 11, 2022, it was completed on June 3, 2024. The various units began to operate one after another on June 28, all units started operating successfully in a single attempt on July 1, and the 1# SAN synthesis unit produced qualified products on July 2. The ABS facility comprises 14,200 tons of steel structures, 147,000 meters of pipelines, 734 pieces of equipment, and 1,600 kilometers of electrical and instrumentation cables.
