Recently, the main structure of the D2 transfer station – the tallest building in Phase 1 of Yingkou Medium Plate’s new coke silo project – was officially completed, marking a significant breakthrough at a key stage of this project. The D2 transfer station is the tallest structure in phases 1 and 2 of the entire silo project, and it is responsible for receiving materials for both phases of silos. The main structure of this building is 52.5 meters tall, with 10 floors and 11 different elevations; it represents the largest, tallest, and most complex transfer station that MCC Tian Gong has undertaken in recent years. The core of its operation is to provide transfer services for a total of 6 transportation lines, including conveyor belts, tube belt conveyors, and belt conveyors, which plays a decisive role in ensuring the smooth operation of the entire coke storage system. During the project construction, in the face of a complex construction environment and technical challenges, the project team demonstrated outstanding professional skills and a strong determination to overcome obstacles. During the foundation construction phase, the special location adjacent to the railway lines within the factory increased the construction risks. After multiple rounds of discussion, the team adopted a support system using Larsen steel sheet piles for excavation, thereby enabling the foundation work to be completed successfully while ensuring the safety of railway operations ; For the two pipeline relocation tasks beneath the cap slab, precise positioning and segmented construction techniques were employed to ensure zero damage to the existing pipelines and no delays in the project timeline. In terms of the management and control of ultra-high-risk projects, addressing construction challenges such as floor-standing scaffolds over 50 meters in height and ultra-high formwork support systems, the project team optimized the construction plans and integrated comprehensive safety controls to achieve a \"zero accidents\" goal for work at heights. In terms of structural facilities, for elevated structures ranging from 9m to 30m in height, an innovative structure is adopted that combines steel pipe concrete-filled supports with reinforced concrete frames; this approach ensures the structural load-bearing capacity while also effectively reducing the construction period. In addition, the project team pursued construction with \"high standards and strict requirements,\" overcoming various challenges such as low temperatures during winter construction, delayed drawings, and concurrent work by multiple trades, and ultimately ensuring that the main structure of the D2 transfer station was completed on schedule. The completion of this node lays the foundation for subsequent equipment installation units to carry out construction, and it also accumulates valuable experience for similar industrial buildings.
