Yanshan Petrochemical’s 1.4 million tons per year delayed coking unit uses a \"one furnace, two towers\" process. The two current coke towers have been in operation for 18 years, and this major maintenance campaign involves a complete replacement of both towers. The newly lifted coke tower, Tower A, has a diameter of 8.8 meters, a height of 38.5 meters, and a weight of 313.2 tons; it represents the largest lifting task in the history of Yanshan Petrochemical’s construction efforts. The lifting site has a complex environment and presents significant challenges for lifting operations. To ensure that the lifting process is carried out safely and smoothly, the Administrative Affairs Center, as the project manager, organized the construction and supervision units to conduct repeated discussions and analyses of the lifting plan. It also worked together with the refinery to thoroughly examine the environment surrounding the old tower as well as the conditions for lifting, and invited industry experts to participate in the evaluation of the lifting plan. Thorough preliminary preparation and on-site environment inspection, along with close cooperation among the project management team, the construction unit, and the refinery, have laid a solid foundation for this safe lifting operation.
