The pouring of the final concrete pour for the foundation slabs of the second phase of the Hainan LNG receiving station was completed recently, marking the finish of construction of the foundation slabs for all 3 storage tanks in this phase. This advancement pushes the project toward the next stage, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the upper foundation slabs and the overall structure. The second phase of the Hainan LNG receiving station involves the construction of 3 new full-volume LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 220,000 cubic meters each; the foundations for these tanks utilize a low-pile double foundation system combined with short columns. As the base layer of a dual-base structure, the lower base plate enhances the horizontal bearing capacity of the tank foundation by improving the integrity of the pile group. It plays a crucial role in transferring upper loads and stresses to the pile foundation, and the construction quality of this lower base plate is essential for the safety and stability of the entire tank structure.
