On August 20, the first phase of Project 1 of Yulin Hengshen New Materials Co., Ltd.’s 20,000 tons per year high-performance carbon fiber production facility – namely the 5,000 tons per year capacity unit – was handed over at an intermediate stage, marking the transition of this first 10,000 tons per year high-performance carbon fiber project in Shaanxi Province from the construction phase to the trial production phase. The project is located in the Qingshui Industrial Park of the Yushen Industrial Zone, with a planned total investment of 4.73 billion yuan. It will be constructed in two phases; the first phase has an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons. It includes production facilities for polymerization, spinning, carbonization, etc., and uses the acrylonitrile process technology to manufacture high-performance carbon fiber products such as HF20-50K, HF30S-24K, and HF40S-24K. Since the project commenced in July 2024, Yulin Hengshen Company has remained committed to the goal of building a first-class carbon fiber enterprise, actively implementing Shaanxi Coal Group’s \"four business philosophies\", and systematically managing the four key aspects of safety, quality, schedule, and cost. In the face of numerous challenges, all those involved in the project worked hard to overcome obstacles and ensure its efficient progress. After more than 300 days and nights of continuous effort, the project has fully met China Communications Construction standards. Among them, all process equipment has been commissioned, the core equipment has passed individual testing, and the production facility is ready for operation ； The installation and pressure testing of the process pipelines were completed successfully, fully meeting the requirements for a seamless production process ； The installation and commissioning of the electrical and instrumentation control systems have been completed, enabling reliable and precise control of all production processes ； “All issues identified through the \"three inspections and four determinations\" have been resolved, and the project quality fully meets the requirements of the design documents, **standards, and industry regulations, thus laying a solid foundation for subsequent trial production. This project mainly includes 32 unit projects and 118 sub-projects, such as polymerization, spinning, carbonization, solvent recovery units, air compression for nitrogen production, and freezing stations. Yulin Hengshen Company had previously organized the design, construction, and supervision units to conduct a pre-acceptance; the project quality was deemed satisfactory according to its own assessment, and it met the requirements for handover.
