On November 2, the compression building for the ammonia synthesis unit at the PUSRI-IIIB project in Palembang, Indonesia, which is under EPC general contracting by China Five Rings Engineering Co., Ltd. affiliated with Sinochem, was successfully completed, marking the official entry of the project construction into a phase of intensive installation work. The compressed factory building is 25.33 meters in height and 96.80 meters in length. It features a large number of embedded components and numerous pre-drilled holes, along with large floor spans and complex locally staggered structures. Coupled with narrow working areas and frequent concurrent operations, the construction process is extremely difficult. Looking back at the history of civil engineering construction, difficulties and challenges have emerged one after another. The project team not only has to deal with the harsh climate of high temperatures and heavy rainfall throughout the year, but also must overcome the practical challenges posed by limited space and intense overlapping activities among different specialties. Faced with these challenges, the project team carried out scientific planning and careful organization, optimized the construction plans and strengthened on-site management. By actively communicating and coordinating with all relevant parties and efficiently allocating resources, they were able to complete the topping out of the main structure safely and smoothly, earning high praise from the client. With the completion of the main structure of the core building, the main civil engineering structures across the entire project site have been fully finished, marking the official start of the installation phase. The focus of work at the project site will now shift entirely to this installation stage. At present, all tasks are being carried out in an intense and organized manner: the final stages of civil work are proceeding simultaneously with the installation of steel structures; the lifting of large-scale equipment is advancing smoothly; the construction of process pipelines has begun in full swing; equipment and materials are continuously being delivered to the site; machinery and construction workers are gradually taking their positions. A spirit of hard work and urgency is growing on site, as all the builders strive towards the next goal with great enthusiasm and determination. These phased victories reflect the wisdom and hard work of all those involved in the project, and they also indicate that the project is about to enter a more intense and critical phase.
