It is the early winter season, and the cold is increasing in Qingyang. The construction site of the Qingyang Tongxin Light Hydrocarbon Deep Processing project is bustling with activity. Recently, the fifth section of the torch scaffold was lifted, an effort carried out by CSIC 711 Institute and Shandong Huaxian Installation and Construction Co., Ltd.; this marks the successful completion of the lifting work for the main structure of the torch scaffold. The torch system is an important component of project construction and a vital safety guarantee for the operation of chemical plants. Lifting the external scaffolding of the torch presents numerous challenges. With a height of 120 meters, the fifth section of the external scaffolding, being the final section of the torch tower, has a working height of around 104 meters; this constitutes level 4 high-altitude work, requiring a high degree of safety precautions and precision in operations. The complexity of coordinating such tasks is far greater than that of ordinary lifting projects. The construction team organized numerous technical seminars and feasibility studies, optimizing the lifting process based on the actual conditions on site. They conducted repeated calculations regarding the locations of lifting points and the stress levels involved, thereby developing a new approach for the modular lifting of such torches. This approach effectively reduced the risks associated with lifting operations, improved efficiency, and enhanced both safety and technical safeguards. For this lifting operation, a 650-ton truck crane was used as the main lifting device, with the assistance of a 50-ton truck crane; the two machines worked in precise coordination in high-altitude conditions to carry out a series of complex tasks such as turning, lifting, and aligning the external scaffolding. Thanks to the full cooperation of the on-site workers, the fifth section of the torch scaffold was successfully placed on the designated supports, with the positioning error being within the requirements specified in the design
