Recently, in the **Rayong Industrial Park, the successful completion of performance tests and stability assessments for the propane refrigeration compressor system marked the successful commissioning of the fuel gas optimization project for the natural gas processing plant, which was carried out by the Pipeline Bureau Engineering Company under CNPC Engineering. This project will help improve the fuel gas recovery rate, process stability, and environmental protection standards at the **** Petroleum Company’s natural gas processing plant, thereby providing solid support for the high-quality development of the energy industry.
**The fuel gas optimization project for the natural gas processing plants is a systematic renovation and expansion initiative targeting six key facilities operated by **PTT**, namely the Natural Gas Processing Plants 2, 3, and 6 (GSP2, GSP3, GSP6), the Ethane Processing Plant (ESP), the Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP), and the Natural Gas Processing Plant (GPPP). The project commenced in November 2023, with a construction period of just 24 months. According to project manager Wang Jifang, what made the huge workload even more challenging was the fact that there were only 4 Chinese managers at the beginning of the project. In the face of these challenges, the team took into account the fact that the project involved numerous locations and a wide scope of activities, and thus implemented localized management strategies. Efforts were made to recruit local managers; 5 core engineers were hired locally to hold key management positions on site, and 10 designers were stationed there as well. As a result, the degree of localization of the project reached 98%. Adhering to the principles of efficiency improvement, energy conservation, and environmental protection, the project team assigns the design manager to also act as the project commissioning manager, thereby creating a closed-loop system that addresses technical feasibility, optimal resource allocation, as well as cost reduction and waste minimization.
