\"Ready\" means that the electrical control system of the equipment is in a condition to start operating; it is ready to be turned on (provided that all interlocking conditions are met), awaiting a startup signal from the control center. Typically, the points for indicating readiness in various electrical control cabinets are not interconnected, but they are generally similar. In most cases, when the transfer switch on the electrical control cabinet at the site is set to the central control position, a readiness signal from the DCS is generated. This is a 220V voltage signal with respect to ground; it comes from the rear end of the transfer switch in our secondary circuit. Some of these signals are also generated by PLCs. When certain conditions are met, the PLC sends out a readiness signal as well as a signal indicating that central control approval has been given.
