1. Whether the elevation of the pit bottom meets the requirements specified in the drawings and geological survey results.
2. Whether the planar dimensions of the pit, the slope gradient, and the positions of the cap slabs and independent foundations are correct, and whether there are any excessive axis deviations.
II. Check whether the soil conditions match those described in the geological survey report
1. Whether the type, color, and density of the soil layers at the bottom of the pit correspond to those indicated in the geological survey report.
2. Whether there is any fill soil, silt, humus, or weak interlayers present.
3. Whether the bearing stratum consists of the appropriate old soil layer/rock and soil layer as required by the design.
III. Inspect the degree of disturbance to the original soil at the foundation base
1. Whether there is over-excavation, mechanical disturbance, waterlogging, or freezing.
2. It is strictly prohibited to artificially loosen the soil at the foundation base or damage its original structure through compaction.
IV. Examine groundwater conditions and water accumulation at the pit bottom
1. Whether there is seepage, springs, quicksand, or piping at the bottom of the pit.
2. Whether the accumulated water has been removed, and whether dewatering, replacement of soil, or thickening of the cushion layer is necessary.
V. Check the stability of the pit slopes and the surrounding area
1. Whether the slope gradients are within acceptable limits, and whether there are any risks of collapse, cracks, or sliding.
2. Whether there are any safety issues caused by surrounding loads, nearby buildings, or pipelines.
VI. Inspect special areas and any abnormal conditions
1. Whether there are ancient wells, tombs, air-raid shelters, old foundations, or isolated rocks present.
2. Whether there are any areas with uneven hardness, sudden changes in elevation, or other adverse geological conditions such as soil caves.
VII. Verify the results of borehole testing/foundation inspections
1. Whether the locations, depths, and number of blows used in borehole testing comply with relevant standards.
2. Whether the borehole test records are accurate, and whether there are any abnormal findings that need to be addressed.
VIII. Review of documents and on-site handover
1. Geological survey reports, foundation design drawings, layout records, and excavation records.
2. Sign-offs from all parties involved (constructor, supervisor, designer, surveyor, contractor). Only after approval can the next construction steps (cushion layer installation, foundation construction) proceed
