Hello fellow engineers, I would like to know what the oil temperature requirements are before each reciprocating compressor is started. I see that some are above 10°C, some are 15°C, and some are around 20-25°C. Are these parameters related to the lubricating oil used in the compressor? What kind of lubricating oil is generally used in reciprocating compressors? Thanks
If the temperature is low, the lubrication effect will not be good after startup, which will affect the life of the equipment.

What is the specific reason? Has the oil film thickness changed? Or is the adhesion getting worse? I think it is best to start the oil pump when the temperature is greater than 15°C. If it is not started, the surface temperature of the electric heater may be too high, causing the lubricating oil in contact with the electric heater to deteriorate and become darker!
To start the heater, you need to start the auxiliary oil pump and circulate the lubricant. I wonder if you have it?
