On May 23, **Pipeline Network Group** reported that since the integrated operation of China’s major oil and gas pipelines began on October 1, 2020, the volume of natural gas transported has exceeded 1 trillion cubic meters, with the highest daily transportation volume reaching 1.1 billion cubic meters. Significant progress has been made in the market-oriented reform of the oil and gas pipeline operation system. Data shows that in the five years since grid interconnection, the utilization rate of China’s natural gas pipeline network has increased by 12 percentage points to 80%. The cross-provincial pipeline transportation price has dropped by 5%, resulting in annual savings of 12 billion yuan in societal energy costs. The daily maximum gas transmission capacity has increased by 48% compared to 2020, driving the country’s apparent consumption volume to exceed 420 billion cubic meters. At present, oil and gas pipelines are under unified management and allocation, a “X+1+X” market system has been established, and the vitality of market entities has been significantly enhanced.
