I would like to ask the experts: To what extent does the water content in the natural gas (wet gas) at the wellhead affect the measurement accuracy of differential pressure flow meters equipped with advanced orifice plates?
It indeed has a significant impact. It also depends on the water content; when the water content is low, it affects the components of natural gas (mainly the density, as well as other parameters), thereby affecting the measurement accuracy ； When the water content is high, a gas-liquid two-phase flow occurs, which further prevents accurate measurement. Strictly speaking, natural gas metering requires the gas to be in a dry state in order to ensure measurement accuracy.
