In the minutes of the meeting of the Standardization Group of the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development in 2016, document No. 【Jianbiao Biaohan 2016】237, it was stated that the capacity of fully refrigerated liquid hydrocarbon storage tanks should not exceed 10,000 cubic meters; however, no specific limit was set. The standardization group was asked to determine the maximum allowable capacity for such tanks. May I ask whether it is still possible to construct fully refrigerated liquid hydrocarbon storage tanks with a capacity of 20,000 to 40,000 cubic meters each?
It’s possible to do it, but only by applying to the local work safety supervision agency for a non-standard storage tank.
