Hello everyone. Recently, I’ve been working on a project that involves calculating the insulation thickness required for LNG storage. I was wondering if anyone knows what principle should be followed when calculating the insulation thickness based on the dew point requirements specified in GB50264-2013, the Code for Design of Insulation Engineering of Industrial Equipment and Piping. Specifically, if the location where the project is situated is not listed in Appendix C of GB50264-2013, which contains tables of environmental temperatures, relative humidities, and dew points for different locations, what should be used as a reference? Should we use the temperature and humidity values of the nearest city to the project site, or those of a city within the same province with similar conditions? Another question: the temperature and humidity values listed in Appendix C of GB50264-2013 are based on data compiled by the meteorological services before the year 2000. It’s now the year 2020, and temperature and humidity levels have changed significantly in recent years. Given this situation, when calculating the insulation thickness and needing to determine the temperature and humidity values for the project site, should we still use the parameters listed in Appendix C of GB50264-2013, or should we use the most up-to-date data provided by the meteorological services? I’d like to know how others handle such situations. I appreciate any advice from those with experience. Thank you in advance!
