Where is sampling required for LNG? Can I use a liquid sample?
Product analysis: the product is taken out of the cold box and the product tank; sampling for analysis causes vaporization in the sampling pipeline, and what is obtained is gas; When the liquid is removed, it vaporizes rapidly, causing the volume to expand quickly and the pressure to rise swiftly, which is unsafe; even insulated gas cylinders can experience safety issues as their explosion-proof membranes may rupture
Currently, both unloading at the customs and sampling at the refueling stations are carried out by vaporizing the sample in accordance with the relevant sampling standards before taking the gaseous sample. However, I don’t understand why so many customers recently want liquid samples taken for density testing. I asked some people, and they said that density is calculated. At the moment, we are researching insulated gas cylinders, but we feel a bit uncertain as to whether they can be put to use.
We conduct regular quality tests and send the samples to the provincial capital for analysis. To collect the liquid, special steel cylinders that can maintain cold temperatures are required; these cylinders must have enough space for vaporization, and their insulation layers need to be evacuated. However, the customer base is too small.
