Author/Source: Date: 2019-01-31 Clicks: 2 At 18:28 on December 18, 2018, the 30,000 Nm3/h coke oven gas-to-liquefied natural gas project of Wuhai Huaxin Coal Coking Co., Ltd., which was under the general contracting of Xindi, successfully produced qualified liquefied natural gas. The Wuhai LNG project is located in the Qianlishan Industrial Park, Haibowan District, Wuhai City. It utilizes technologies such as methane synthesis catalysts, adiabatic reactors, and high-efficiency separation equipment developed by Xindi. Using coke oven gas, a by-product of the coking industry, as raw material, this project produces clean energy in the form of LNG through processes of compression, purification, methane synthesis, and liquefaction separation. The main plant area of the project includes five units: compression, desulfurization, synthesis, liquefaction, and hydrogen extraction ； Storage and transportation facilities include LNG storage tanks and loading stations ； In addition, there are more than a dozen auxiliary production areas such as a central control room, substation, analysis and testing laboratory, desalination station, chilled water station, gas supply station, circulating water system, fire protection system, and flare system. During the construction of the Wuhai project, it was hit by heavy rains that occur once every 50 years in the Wuhai area, resulting in severe erosion at the site. In the face of these numerous challenges, all the employees of the Wuhai project management team worked overtime to complete the installation of all equipment, process pipelines, cables, instruments, as well as the civil engineering works, as required. On November 6, the trial operation with feed material injection officially began. Operating in winter is already a challenge in itself; coupled with the dry and cold conditions in the Wuhai area, this further increases the difficulty of liquid extraction. All members of the project management team were on standby 24/7 to address any emergencies promptly, ensuring that all commissioning tasks were completed to both quality and quantity standards. On December 18th at 18:28, fluid production was successfully initiated, delivering a satisfactory result for the company and the client. The Wuhai project is another key initiative of our company in the field of converting coke oven gas into liquefied natural gas. The construction of this project will solve the issue of what to do with 240 million cubic meters of coke oven gas, turning waste into a valuable resource and enabling the use of clean energy. It will bring about significant social and economic benefits, contributing to the development of enterprises that are resource-efficient and environmentally friendly.
