Safety valves for LNG thermal expansion and insulation of inlet and outlet pipelines

Why are the thermal expansion safety valves for cryogenic pipelines such as LNG pipelines required to have the valve itself, as well as certain sections of the pipeline at the inlet and outlet areas, exposed without insulation? I’m a bit confused; could anyone help answer this?
It’s a mistake not to insulate the entrance. There is no insulation on the outlet because there is no medium, and it is not necessary.
