Can the automatic fire alarm system and the station control system be integrated? In small- and medium-sized gas stations where no buildings are present, in order to circumvent the requirements of GB50116, design institutes often refrain from designing building fire protection systems. However, since flame detectors are still installed, the concept of a fire and gas system is introduced to fulfill the so-called fire protection requirements for the station. Furthermore, some smaller gas stations connect signals from professional sprinkler valves and similar devices directly to the station control system, in the absence of flame detectors, in order to save money. And for fire safety inspections, they only check whether it meets the requirements or not; they don’t care about anything else, right? It conflicts with GB/T 50493 and GB 50116. Design reference specification: GB/T 50823 Design Code for Computer Control Systems in Oil and Gas Field and Pipeline Projects. 2.1.4 Fire gas and smoke detection and protection system – A safety control system used to monitor fires as well as leaks of flammable and toxic gases, and it has functions for alarm generation, fire suppression, and protection. A.3.1 The monitoring systems for oil and gas field stations shall comply with the following requirements: 4) The gas detection system and the fire detection and alarm system can be integrated to form a relatively independent fire and gas detection system. Relevant standards include GB/T 50493, the Design Code for Detection and Alarm of Flammable and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industries; GB 50116, the Design Code for Automatic Fire Alarm Systems. The preface to GB/T 50493-2019 adds the requirement that the detection and alarm systems for flammable and toxic gases (GDS) should be installed separately from the fire and firefighting monitoring systems; 5.1.2 The second-level alarm signals for flammable gases, as well as the fault signals from the alarm control units, shall be sent to the fire control room for graphical display and alarm activation. Combustible gas detectors cannot be connected directly to the input circuit of a fire alarm controller. 5.4.3 When combustible gas detectors are used in fire protection interconnection, the detector signals shall first be sent to a dedicated combustible gas alarm controller that has been manufactured in accordance with the relevant product standards and for which a test report is available; the alarm signals shall then be transmitted by this dedicated combustible gas alarm controller to the fire alarm controller in the fire control room. Flammable gas alarm signals and fire alarm signals shall be clearly distinguishable in the fire alarm control system. According to clause 8.1.4 of GB 50116, Code for Design of Automatic Fire Alarm Systems, \"The alarm information and fault information from combustible gas alarm controllers shall be displayed on the graphic display unit in the fire control room or on the fire alarm controller that has centralized control functions; however, such information should be distinguished from the fire alarm information displayed there.\" The detection and alarm signals for combustible gases and toxic gases that are not part of the fire protection interconnection system can be sent directly from the control unit for detecting and alarming such gases to the fire control room; this control unit does not need to go through the fire detection system. According to Articles 8.1.2 and 8.1.6, combustible gas detectors shall not be directly connected to the detection loop of the fire alarm control system; the combustible gas alarm signals shall be output by the alarm control unit or transmitted to the fire alarm control system via communication.
