As the liquefaction plant in Gansu Province with the highest daily natural gas processing capacity, the commissioning of this project will help alleviate the shortage of LNG supply in the Jiuja area, providing strong support for the secure energy supply and sustainable development in the Hexi region. At the project site, 30,000 cubic meters of LNG storage tanks stand upright, with utility tunnels crisscrossing the process area. The overall design of this project calls for the production and processing of 2 million cubic meters of raw gas per day, resulting in an annual output of around 460,000 tons of LNG. It utilizes advanced liquefaction technologies and equipment from domestic and international manufacturers such as Siemens in Germany and Air Liquide in France, thereby reducing energy losses at the source and significantly lowering the energy consumption per unit of LNG produced – thus achieving both technological superiority and energy savings. “Once the project is in operation, it will be able to handle 40,000 tons of gas per month for peak shaving purposes. The project’s storage capacity for peak shaving is 21 million cubic meters, with an LNG storage capacity of 14,000 tons. In the event of a gas shortage, it can meet the liquid fuel supply needs of the Jiujia area for 10 days. The entire facility is designed to handle 2 million cubic meters per day; currently, its capacity has reached 110% of the designed level, with a daily processing volume of up to 2.2 million cubic meters. Compared with similar liquefaction plants in China, the energy consumption can be kept below 0.3 kWh per cubic meter, reaching a first-class level in the country. ”said Cai Zecheng, the production manager at Gansu Maoque Energy Co., Ltd. It is understood that once operational, this project will be able to generate an annual output value of 1.5 billion yuan and create employment for over 100 people, serving as an energy hub in the Jiuja area. The accompanying natural gas collection and transmission pipeline network facilitates the interconnection of natural gas systems in the region, provides enterprises with a stable source of fuel, reduces dependence on external energy sources, promotes coordinated development of the industrial chain and energy security, and injects strong momentum into the optimization of the energy structure and the high-quality economic development of the Hexi region. At the same time, the project will strengthen the advantages of Northwest LNG trucks in the field of long-distance freight transportation, help to counter the impact of new-energy trucks, and pave the way for future transformation and development into green energy businesses such as green hydrogen and green alcohol. “The commissioning of this project can significantly reduce the transportation costs at gas stations in the end-market, improve the efficiency across the entire clean energy supply chain, and enhance the stability and security of regional energy supply. At the same time, it can reduce carbon emissions, further adjust the energy structure, and achieve a win-win situation for both ecological benefits and developmental benefits. ”Luo Qiang, deputy general manager of Gansu Maoque Energy Co., Ltd., said. The LNG emergency peak-shaving reserve depot project of Gansu Maoque Energy Co., Ltd. will be put into operation in 2024. Through the “Five Ones” project service mechanism, Guazhou County helps enterprises shorten approval times and streamline the procedures required for starting projects; it takes only 2 days to obtain property ownership certificates, which enhances enterprises’ confidence in investing in the area. At the same time, Guazhou County also adopts a \"door-to-door\" service model to address enterprises’ needs, coordinates the provision of basic utilities such as water, electricity, and gas, and facilitates the rapid completion and operation of projects.
