China’s first inland LNG receiving station comes online Source: China Chemical Industry News, March 19, 2025 According to Sinochem New Network, recently, the first batch of 200 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was successfully transferred into the storage tanks via low-temperature pipelines, marking the official commencement of commercial operations at the Wuhu Yangtze River LNG inland receiving (transshipment) station. 　　It is reported that this LNG receiving station is the first inland LNG receiving station of its kind in the country. It represents a major energy infrastructure component in terms of energy and transportation planning, and serves as an important energy supply facility as well as a natural gas storage and peak-shaving base, as outlined in the \"Yangtze River Delta Regional Integration Development Plan\" and Anhui Province’s \"Carbon Peaking Implementation Plan\". Once the receiving station is put into operation, it will enable an additional 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas to be available each year, enough to meet the gas needs of the entire province for about 10 months, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 5 million tons per year.
