FID should all use hydrogen as the combustion gas.
FID is a hydrogen flame ionization detector that requires hydrogen and air as fuel and oxidizing gas, respectively. The carrier gas is relative to the chromatography column system and has no direct relation to the FID detector. When the chromatography column system separates components, nitrogen can be used as the carrier gas; other gases such as argon and helium can also be used, or hydrogen can be used directly. However, when hydrogen is used as the carrier gas, it is necessary to readjust the ratio of the combustion gas to the oxidizing gas, since the carrier gas hydrogen already contributes a certain proportion to the combustion gas.
