Conversion of conductivity to mg/M2

There is a unit of conversion that is difficult to understand. According to the information provided by the manufacturer, the unit used to measure the conductivity of total salt ions in a solution is ms/cm, but the upper limit value given is the concentration of total salt ions: mg/m2. I can’t understand it! I’m asking for help from all fellow sailors!
You’d better check the unit that follows; a mass unit compared to an area unit – that shouldn’t represent concentration. The most likely possibility is surface density, but such a unit is generally not used in chemistry.
I guess it might be a ppb concentration, mg/cubic meter – maybe a typo by the manufacturer?
