How to improve one's ability to analyze problems

The company’s equipment is under maintenance during this period. At noon, while using the German Delge X-am2500 explosion detector to conduct tests, I was assembling an external pump; at that time, the flow rate indicator light of the pump was always red (the normal state for this instrument is for the flow rate indicator light to be green). Another indicator light on the pump was the battery indicator. At that time, I actually thought the external pump had run out of power. Upon inspection, it turned out to be a problem with the piping of the external pump; upon further reflection, I realized just how poor my ability to solve problems is. I’d like to ask my colleagues how they improve their problem-solving skills?

When a problem is identified, dig deep to understand its principles and structure; this way, you will be able to analyze similar incidents in the future. Experience is accumulated over time. Of course, the suggestion from the second floor is very valid
