Do you know anyone who works at a refinery? The output from the cracking of one ton of naphtha is: 0.3 tons of ethylene, 0.2 tons of propylene, 0.15 tons of butadiene, and 0.35 tons of toluene. Is this data reliable? It feels like there’s too much benzene and toluene. . There is another set of numbers: 0.2 propylene, 0.3 ethylene, 0.05 butadiene, 0.08 pure benzene. Another by-product is liquefied gas. Which group seems more reliable?

Naphtha used for ethylene cracking is preferably a feedstock that contains no aromatics and cycloparaffins, or as few as possible. The first set of data is completely unreliable, because it is inevitable that hydrogen, methane, and some other small molecular saturated hydrocarbons are produced during the pyrolysis process ; Furthermore, the naphtha used as the raw material in this set of data must contain a high level of cycloalkanes and heavier components. The second set of data should be the cracking data for very light naphtha feedstocks, and is relatively more reliable.
