It is planned to build new pilot-scale production units for high-pressure polyethylene and seven other types of materials at the pilot plant of the New Materials Research Institute. The construction will involve the use of the ultra-high pressure tubular process for polyethylene developed by Sinopec, with a pilot plant capable of producing 1,000 tons per year of high-pressure polyethylene; the scale of this plant will be 2,200 tons per year of LDPE/EVA ； 5,000 hours of operation per year. This includes the construction of new supporting facilities as well as other ancillary works such as the renovation of the control room.
