After MTBE etherification, the tetraene (n-butylene) isomerizes to isobutylene, which is then used to produce MTBE again. Is it feasible to feed butane-dominated C4 fractions into ethylene cracking after the final cycle?
It can be cracked into ethylene; as long as the various systems within your company are capable of handling it
In practice, shouldn’t costs also be taken into consideration? The cost associated with butene isomerization in terms of equipment and catalyst usage is approximately 200-300 yuan per ton (I’m not sure exactly; please correct me if I’m wrong!) ）
