On the morning of February 7, He Ligui, the head of Yuyang District in Yulin City, along with deputy district heads Liu Jun and Yang Wenhui, warmly received Vice General Manager Guo Jian of Lanzhou Petrochemical and Section Chief Li Zhengbo from Changqing Oilfield Company and their entourage. The two sides held a discussion on the two projects that Lanzhou Petrochemical and Changqing Oilfield Company, subsidiaries of China National Petroleum Corporation, plan to invest in and build in Yulin; officials from departments such as those responsible for development and reform, industry, and investment promotion also attended the meeting. At the symposium, Director Li presented the progress, investment plans, and construction plans for the 1.5 million-ton light hydrocarbon recovery project, which has been preliminarily approved by China National Petroleum Corporation. President Guo outlined the overall plan for the 800,000-ton polyethylene project that China National Petroleum Corporation intends to build in Yu, as well as the basic conditions required for its construction. District Chief He Ligui provided a comprehensive overview of Yuyang District’s economic development, resource advantages, and investment environment. He discussed the strong cooperative relationship that has existed between Yuyang District and CNPC over the years, as well as prospects for further cooperation in various forms in the future. He analyzed the feasibility and development potential of establishing such projects in Yuyang District, and expressed the district’s commitment to providing full support for the implementation of these projects. The two parties held preliminary discussions on the conditions necessary for establishing the plant, including land use, water sources, transportation, environmental protection, and planning, and developed a plan for cooperation between them to advance the preliminary work for the project. President Guo, on behalf of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, and Director Li, on behalf of Changqing Oilfield Company, expressed their gratitude for the strong emphasis placed by Yuyang District on project development. They said that through this symposium, they gained a preliminary understanding of Yuyang District’s overall situation, development strategies, investment promotion policies, and investment environment, which strengthened their confidence in investing there. All stated that they would carry out the relevant work in full scope, striving to have the project implemented and put into operation as soon as possible.
CNPC is very enthusiastic about investing in the Northwest region. The involvement of state-owned enterprises will significantly accelerate investment there, and they will play a key role in the new wave of infrastructure development.
