I would appreciate guidance from experts: Does a stainless steel floating disk belong to the category of fusible floating disks? GB50160-2008 (2018 edition) 6.2.2 provides explanations within the stripes, but I’m not entirely sure. What are the types of fusible floating disks and steel floating disks?
It seems that only stainless steel plates with a thickness of more than 5 mm can be considered easy-to-dissolve materials. When the thickness of the stainless steel plate exceeds 5 mm, the buoyancy unit needs to be enlarged, which reduces the volume available for storing liquid; as a result, the manufacturing and procurement costs increase as well. However, floating pads are expensive, have a long manufacturing cycle, require welding and flaw detection, and the most challenging aspect of maintenance is replacing them.
In this new GB50160 standard, there are no explicit provisions regarding floating tanks made of stainless steel; however, it is specified that floating tanks assembled from stainless steel are considered fusible floating tanks, while welded floating tanks made of stainless steel are not fusible floating tanks. It lies in the form of the floating disc.
The term \"fusible float\" is defined in the specifications for 50160, which explicitly states that aluminum alloy floats and stainless steel prefabricated floats are considered fusible floats. Tanks with a capacity of 5,000 liters or less must be under nitrogen protection to be used. What are the types of steel floating pads? It has nothing to do with the material thickness or type; it is mainly closely related to the structural design of the floating disk.
It is a ridiculous claim to say that stainless steel is a fusible material.
