Why is methanol used for heating dry torch tanks, instead of steam directly?
Low-temperature light hydrocarbons will directly freeze the steam condensate, while methanol will not. . .

Not all patent holders use gas-phase methanol for heating; KBR probably uses methanol, while Lummus and SW use steam for heating
