I would like to ask whether there is a mature process for producing isoprene from isopentane dehydration; if so, what are its catalysts as well as the methods and procedures for their preparation?

The carriers for Cr-based catalysts are γ-Al2O3 and activated carbon, while the promoters include K, Li, Mg, etc. The carriers for Pt-based catalysts are γ-Al2O3 and Mg-Al mixed oxides, while the promoters include Sn, In, K, Li, etc. Ir-based catalysts have also been reported, using triphenylphosphine-modified silica as the support.
Russia possesses this technology, and the amount of isoprene extracted there is already quite large; so why would you use isopentane to produce isoprene? .
