How to perform proper daily maintenance on a silicate analyzer? (1) During operation, the water sample is normal, yet an alarm for the water sample keeps appearing, preventing measurement. Upon inspection, it was found that the issue was caused by dirt on the magnetic float in the sample detector; cleaning the magnetic float resolved the fault. (2) The baseline value fluctuated significantly due to instability; upon inspection, it was found that there was a small crack in the nozzle of the injection tube in the flow cell, which caused bubbles to form occasionally and led to unstable baseline values. Replacing the injection tube nozzle resolved the issue. (3) As long as the flow rate requirements of the water sample are met, it is advisable to keep the tightening knob of the pump pipe clamp loose in order to reduce wear on the pump pipe; it is best to adjust the direction of the pump pipe every half month to extend its service life. (4) During operation, move the atmospheric-pressure portion of the valve tube every week; this helps to extend the interval between valve tube replacements and reduces the amount of maintenance work required. (5) In practical applications, it was found that using a mixture of oxalic acid and sodium benzoate as a substitute for citric acid reagent provides a better effect in preventing interference from phosphates; therefore, it is recommended to stop using citric acid reagent and switch to the mixture of oxalic acid and sodium benzoate. (6) When preparing a trace silicon standard solution, it should be used immediately after preparation and should not be stored for an extended period. (7) The instrument uses a peristaltic pump, which requires significant maintenance; it is recommended to use a plunger pump instead.
