On October 8, Hualu Hengsheng announced that the series of technical improvement projects aimed at increasing the production volume and improving the quality of its dimethyl carbonate have been completed recently, resulting in a significant boost in both product output and quality. It is reported that dimethyl carbonate is a derivative product used in the company’s production of ethylene glycol. Through pilot-scale experiments, the company has developed a new process as well as new catalytic technologies for producing dimethyl carbonate alongside ethylene glycol, resulting in a significant improvement in product quality and yield. According to the project approval report for the technical improvement initiatives, the series of projects aimed at increasing the production and improving the quality of dimethyl carbonate require a total investment of 320 million yuan. As the technical upgrade projects are completed and put into operation one after another, it is expected that the entire plant will have the capacity to produce 300,000 tons per year of high-quality dimethyl carbonate. On the same day, Hualu Hengsheng also announced that the amide and nylon new material project (300,000 tons per year), including the caprolactam production facility and related equipment, has completed its process setup, is capable of producing qualified products, and has entered the trial production phase. Production facilities such as those for 200,000 tons of nylon 6 chips are currently under construction and are expected to come online in the first half of next year.
