New technology for Sinopec’s ethylene cracking furnaces has passed evaluation!

Recently, the \"Energy-saving and High-efficiency Ceramic Fiber Lining Integration Technology for Ethylene Cracking Furnaces,\" developed under the leadership of Sinopec Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (SEI), passed the evaluation of achievements organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The expert group believes that this technology is highly innovative, offers significant social and economic benefits, and its overall level is at the international advanced stage. The SEI R&D team developed new thermal protection coating technologies for the radiation section of ethylene cracking furnaces, new mortise-and-tenon ceramic fiber module structures, and liquid anchoring technologies, which were successfully applied to 4 cracking furnaces at two petrochemical companies. Application results show that this technology can shorten the construction period and the time required for startup and heating, reduce fuel consumption during startup, minimize heat loss, and decrease emissions of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides. To date, this technology has led to the filing of 3 invention patents and 5 utility model patents.
