The feed trial run of the propylene oxide unit in Phase 2 of Zhenhai Base was successful on the first attempt

Recently, the 300,000 tons per year propylene oxide plant in the second phase of the Zhenhai facility successfully completed its commissioning trial run, producing qualified propylene oxide products. 　　This facility is Sinopec’s first industrial-scale propylene oxide plant with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. It utilizes Sinopec’s independently developed technology for producing propylene oxide via the cumene hydroperoxide process, as well as catalysts of its own design; it features low material and energy consumption, excellent product quality, and emission levels that are among the best in the industry. 　　Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. coordinated the commissioning process scientifically, ensuring efficient completion of the key steps. By optimizing the commissioning network and reducing steam venting time, startup costs are significantly lowered, enabling a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective successful first startup of the plant.
