Latest Progress on Juzhengyuan (Jieyang)’s 900,000 tons/year Propane Dehydrogenation Project

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 7th Party Congress of Jieyang City, accelerate the development of green petrochemicals as a strategic pillar industry, make every effort to speed up the construction of major industrial projects so that they can be put into operation as soon as possible and start generating benefits, meet the diversified raw material needs of downstream enterprises, and comprehensively establish a green petrochemical industry chain in the industrial zone – all in order to provide strong support for our city to become an industrially strong city within the coastal economic belt. On April 12, 2022, Cai Danqun, member of the Municipal Party Committee, vice mayor, and secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Dainanhai Petrochemical Industrial Zone, organized a joint review meeting for the feasibility study report of the Juzhengyuan (Jieyang) 900,000 tons per year propane dehydrogenation project in the industrial zone. Participants included the owner of the Juzhengyuan project, the unit responsible for preparing the feasibility study, as well as relevant agencies from the city, Huilei County, and the industrial zone. The meeting was chaired by Chen Xiaoping, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the management committee of the industrial zone. At the meeting, the industrial zone provided an update on the progress of the Juzhengyuan project, and listened to presentations from the units responsible for preparing the project feasibility study as well as the project owner regarding the project plan and the revisions made to the feasibility study. At the same time, relevant member units such as the city, Huilei County, and the industrial zone provided valuable suggestions and opinions on the project’s feasibility study report and the plans for moving forward with it. At this joint evaluation meeting, the approval for Juzhengyuan (Jieyang)’s 900,000 tons per year propane dehydrogenation project was granted in principle. The meeting emphasized that, first, it is necessary to raise awareness, and greater initiative and urgency should be shown regarding the Juzhengyuan Jieyang project ； Second, it is necessary to accelerate the progress of the Juzhengyuan project; focusing on starting construction this year, work schedules should be reversed to determine specific time milestones ； Third, all departments should maintain their initiative in providing support for the Juzhengyuan project, improve work efficiency, demonstrate a sense of ownership, ensure that all aspects of service related to the project are carried out properly, resolve any issues that arise promptly, and push forward with the commencement of construction of the project at the earliest possible time.
