Construction of new 400,000-ton polyethylene project begins

On December 12, the 400,000 tons per year full-density polyethylene production unit as part of Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project was successfully put into operation. China National Petroleum Corporation’s Guangxi Petrochemical integration and transformation project is a major initiative within the planning and development of the petrochemical industry. It is also a strategic project undertaken by China National Petroleum Corporation to pursue a strategy of reducing oil production and increasing chemical production in order to adjust the industry structure. This project holds great significance for advancing the development of the petrochemical industry as well as the economic and social progress in Qinzhou, and it contributes to the construction of a prosperous Guangxi under socialism with Chinese characteristics. As one of the key process units in Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project, the full-density polyethylene plant was contracted out to Huanqiu Daqing Company for construction. The plant utilizes Unipol technology from the American company Univation to produce polymer-grade full-density polyethylene resin pellets.
