Regarding the issue of chlorine content in the purchased common slag, which increased from 0.3 mg/l to 7 mg/l – what type of chloride is it (organic/inorganic), and why was it added intentionally? How to deal with it in production?
The increased chlorine content in purchased crude residue may be due to the use of chlorine-containing treatment chemicals, or the entry of chlorides from wastewater (which may include both organic and inorganic chlorine) into the production system without any treatment. The intentional addition of chlorides is usually done for disinfection, sterilization, or to improve product properties. Corresponding countermeasures in production include: 1. Strengthening the quality control of raw materials and selecting raw materials with low chlorine content. 2. Optimize the production process to reduce or avoid the use of chlorine-containing substances. 3. Add or optimize wastewater treatment processes to effectively remove chlorides. 4. Regularly monitor chlorine content and other key parameters to promptly adjust treatment measures. .
It may be synthetic oil, which is a mixture of pyrolysis oils from waste plastics, tire oil, waste lubricating oil, and other chemical oils. The chlorine-containing chemicals that are typically added during the crude oil procurement process decompose during processing; this is evident in the aqueous phase at the top of the tower. To reduce corrosion, some facilities add alkaline solutions during the electrodesposition treatment of crude oil; as a result, chlorine may accumulate in the form of salts within the residue oil at the bottom of the tower.
